A couple of weeks ago, because of our very wet cold spring, and then really hot days, it caused all of the snow to melt at once and we had some flooding. I always tell my girls this story about my grandpa--how when I was a kid, the water used to get so high it would go over the top of the road in several places down at the ranch. My grandpa would come and pick us up, pretty much daily, and with him and my grandma in tow he would put all of us kids in the back seat of the car, and tell us to roll down our windows. Grandma always was furious at grandpa for doing this, but he didn't care, that's just how my grandpa was. He would drive as fast as he could through the water that ran over the road, windows down, splashing all of us inside the car. It was so much fun as a kid to do that! They have since made the roads much higher, but this flooding would have, back in the day, run over the road just like it did when grandpa used to come and get us to do that. Joe and I spent a couple of days driving around the valley looking at all of the flooding water, and of course I had my camera in tow. It was impressive how high the water was!

This is down at the ranch, looking over the hill toward where the bridge used to be.

We just had to drive fast through the water--windows up of course, but the girls LOVED it :)

This is on the way to the ranch, by the corner on mom's road

Flooded pamida.
